A well-known photograph of Princess Diana and Michael Jackson captures more than just a meeting between two icons — it hints at a deeper connection. Although they only met in person once, their bond later drew public fascination. Their meeting took place on July 16, 1988, when Diana and Prince Charles attended Michael Jackson’s Bad tour concert at Wembley Stadium. Diana, known as the “People’s Princess,” loved music and often listened to Jackson’s albums Thriller and Bad.
Before the show, Jackson nervously removed the song “Dirty Diana” from the setlist, fearing it might offend her. To his surprise, Diana encouraged him to perform it, and he ultimately did. Jackson later described her as warm and gracious, even gifting miniature tour jackets for Princes William and Harry.
