
Isabella returned to Laura’s room again and again, each time speaking gently, encouraging her to focus and try to move even the smallest part of her body. On the fifth day, Laura managed to twitch the pinky finger on her left hand. It was a nearly imperceptible movement, but it was enough for Isabella.
