“Lila?” I thought, my mind struggling to grapple with the revelation. Tears brimmed in my eyes as the realization dawned—my son was living a truth I had never known.

Lila—no longer Liam—stood tall, her voice steady and strong. “For the longest time, I’ve been trapped, pretending to be someone I’m not. Tonight, I’m taking back my identity. I am a woman, and my name is Lila.”
