My husband suddenly snapped, throwing his phone aside and yelling at our daughter for no apparent reason. She froze, startled by his sudden outburst. Instead, he was harsh and cruel, his words cutting through the air like knives. He berated her for not playing quietly and for making a mess with her toys. His anger was unwarranted and deeply unsettling.
What devastated me the most was how he handled our daughter when she started to cry. Instead of comforting her, he grabbed her roughly by the arm and dragged her to her crib, telling her to stay put and be quiet. She sobbed as she clutched her stuffed animal, seeking comfort in its softness, her small frame shaking with fear.
