
I let his threats wash over me as I leaned back in my chair, a sense of satisfaction warming my chest. “Go ahead, Trevor. Feel free to call them. But remember, everything in that box is public record. I’ve done nothing illegal.”
The line went silent for a moment, and I could almost hear the gears turning in his mind. “You think you can break us up with this nonsense?” he spat finally, the bravado starting to crack.
I chuckled softly. “Break you up? Oh, Trevor, you misunderstand. I’m just making sure my daughter knows exactly who she married. It’s her choice what she does with that information. But deception, it seems, is your specialty—not mine.”
