The White House has issued a response to former WWE star Jesse Ventura after his claims that the 2024 attempt on President Donald Trump’s life was staged.

Readers will remember all too well the assassination attempt that played out during one of Trump’s campaign rallies in Butler, Pennsylvania in July, 2024. At the time, Trump was allegedly shot at by 20-year-old Thomas Crooks, who had positioned himself on a rooftop looking over the stage president was speaking on.

One of the eight shots reportedly fired by Crooks struck Trump in his ear, but he was whisked away by Secret Service and survived the ordeal without serious injury.

As was always likely to be the case with such a monumental happening, the credibility of the assassination attempt has been called into question by some of Trump’s detractors.
