Savanna Guthrie breaks her silence amid mother’s disappearance
Savannah Guthrie, the NBC News anchor for Today, was absent from the broadcast on Monday, February 2. Per People Magazine, the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie was mentioned at the top of Monday’s show. It was only hours after the news broke.
“We want to get right to what is a deeply personal story for us, Nancy Guthrie, Savannah’s beloved mother, has been reported missing in Arizona,” anchor Craig Melvin said.

Now, Savannah Guthrie has broken her silence. In a statement to the Today show, she said, “On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers, and messages of support. Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom. We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900.”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Guthrie family.
