My heart skipped a beat as I scrambled to find a live stream of Channel 5 on my phone.
I was perplexed, my mind racing to piece together what my mom was talking about.
“Met who?” I wondered out loud, frantically searching for answers. As the video buffered, a part of me hoped it was all just a misunderstanding.
Finally, the live stream loaded. The screen showed a breaking news segment with a familiar face being interviewed. It was the old man from the highway, his piercing blue eyes now calm and wise, rather than desperate and weathered. The banner at the bottom of the screen read: “Billionaire Philanthropist Raymond Carter Rescued By Good Samaritan.”
