Donald Trump mocked by Prince Harry during late-night show
Just a month earlier, Trump clarified that he “wouldn’t protect” Harry if he wins the 2024 presidential election in November.
“I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it was down to me,” Trump told the Express at the time, adding that he believes the Royal Family was “too gracious” to Harry after “what he has done.”
Prince Harry hasn’t been that outspoken about Trump or his thoughts on his second presidential term. However, on Wednesday, the Duke made a quite brutal comment towards Donald, as he appeared on The Late Show with Steven Colbert.
The comedian and former Royal Family member teamed up to do a sketch in which Harry, as himself, pretended to be auditioning to play a “Gingerbread Christmas Prince saves Christmas in Nebraska” in the form of a Hallmark movie. He pointed out that the US was ‘obsessed’ with royalty.
“I heard you elected a king”
It was pretty clear that Harry delivered a nod to the “No Kings” movement, which was all about what many believe Trump’s “authoritarian” policies are. Then Harry claimed the country had already “elected a king.”
“‘Folks, it’s Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales Sussex. What are you doing here?” Colbert began the sketch.
“‘Hold on, I wouldn’t say we’re obsessed with royalty,” Colbert later said in the sketch.
Harry responded, “Really? I heard you elected a king,” which received booes from the crowd.
