Before she could respond, Adrian turned his attention to Miranda, his voice carrying the weight of authority. “Is this how the Harrington family treats their own?” he asked, his tone icy. “By humiliating a woman in front of your guests?”
Miranda’s self-satisfied smirk faltered, replaced by unease. She hadn’t anticipated this turn of events. “This is a private family matter,” she stammered, trying to regain control. “It’s none of your business.”
Adrian’s lips curled into a sardonic smile. “When you make it public, it becomes everyone’s business.” He gestured to the guests, all of whom were watching with bated breath, many now uncomfortable under the scrutiny of the brothers’ penetrating gazes. “Or did you think this spectacle would go unnoticed?”
